What Real Solidarity Looks Like

We received this beautiful message from Jewdas which warmed our hearts and reminded us what real interfaith work looks like.

“Dear Inclusive Mosque Initiative,

We are writing to you to express our solidarity at this terrifying time of rising prejudice and violence.

As a Jewish group we know too well what can happen when fascism is allowed to grow and gain power. What is happening now feels far too familiar of the Nazi regime that our community suffered 80 years ago, and we will fight tirelessly to make sure that it doesn’t happen again. We stand with you against the violence and hatred that your community is subject to and we are committed to supporting you.

We recognise that solidarity is not just words but actions. We would like to offer you our practical services in any way you need or want. We are experienced fundraisers, have contacts for venues all over London and would be happy to help out with on the ground practicalities like setting up, travel buddies and providing security at events.

Our shared history, centuries of culture and influence, tie us together as does the hateful rhetoric used against us. Our love is lasting and our support unconditional. Please let us know what we can do for you, no matter how big or small we will always be there for our Muslim siblings.
